The Contractor began backfilling around Pump Station #3 and placed a flowable fill base for the next set of chamber slabs.
The Contractor also placed concrete for Closure Structure #10 west side abutment foundation. Forms for the walls are shown in the photo.
The Inspection Trench between Sta. 8+50 to 16+00, Sta. 18+00 to 24+50, Sta. 27+50 to Sta. 37+50 have been excavated and backfilled. The Toe Drain has been constructed from Sta. 8+50 to 16+00, Sta.
18+00 to 24+50, and from Railroad Street to Market Street. Placement of the Levee fill continues in these areas.
Over 1200 feet of 48″ Storm Sewer has been installed, along with 96 feet of 24″ Storm Sewer, including four manholes.
Installation of the two large 8 foot diameter Sanitary Manholes is complete along with 235 feet of 30″ sanitary sewer at a depth of 16 feet.
The Verizon Fiber Optic Line has been installed including boring a sleeve under the existing levee. Fiber Optic cable installation is scheduled to start the week 29 July 2019.
During installation of the 24″ and 48″ storm lines near Eleventh Street, construction debris was encountered. Test pits will be dug after changeover of the Verizon Fiber Optic line to establish the extent of this material and action required.
A meeting with representatives from Borton-Lawson, GPI, and PADEP was held on site 26 JUL 19, to review the requirements and plans for the ash removal that was discovered along Railroad Street during levee construction. Samples were taken to be analyzed in case the ash must be sent to a landfill. Samples results and PADEP direction are anticipated for late next week.
The project is on schedule for completion in summer of 2020.
