Town of Bloomsburg – Bloomsburg Flood Risk Management Expansion Project
Project Progress Update for Period from May 3 to 17, 2019
The Contractor has completed excavation for stormwater Pump Station #3 and is currently installing reinforcing for the base slab, which is scheduled to be placed on Thursday 23 MAY 2019, weather permitting.
Testing of soil material from offsite source has verified its’ suitability for construction of the levee.
The inspection trench along the centerline of the levee has been excavated and backfilled between Sta. 11+00 to 12+50, which is located on the BASD property.
Layout for the school access road Closure Structure #10 is underway. Excavation is expected to start within the next week. This major structure will permit erection of a barrier across the road during flood events.
The 48″ Storm Sewer work has been delayed due to high river level. This sewer will direct interior stormwater runoff to the new Pump Station #3 on school property during flood events for pumping over the levee into the river.
