Levee Embankment: Current levee elevations between Eleventh Street and Market Street are at a minimum elevation of 479.00 to provide flood mitigation for all but three of the past record flood events. Work on the levee upstream of Market Street will begin in March or early April, weather dependent.
24” Storm Line: Leading to PS-#4 is complete including the manhole and inlets to MH-407.
30” DIP Sanitary Line: Manhole E located at the corner of the BASD Football Field fence has been installed and the sanitary sewer has been connected. The section of the existing sanitary line from MH-B to approximately 20ft outside the toe of levee on the landside has been abandoned and grouted.
48” Storm Line: Construction along 11th Street is shut down due to access issues with the BASD. Approximately 1300lf of 48” pipe installed to date. Including Manholes 106, 108, 109, 110, and 111. Relocation of Manholes 111 and 112 are required due to conflicts with the existing 12” watermain. Construction of the 48” Storm line from PS-#3 to MH-108 is complete. Work on installation of the 48” storm sewer on 11th St. is scheduled to resume MAR 2020. A revision to the Storm line design has been issued to the contractor including revisions to the Suez waterline work.
Closure Structure #10 and #11 – The stop log dry fit exercise was completed on 21 FEB 20. Some revisions to the stop log system are required to allow a proper fit at the abutments.
Closure Structure #12 – Market Street: Flowable fill has been placed under the area where the abutment footing and sill footing will be constructed.
Pump Station #3: Installing pump bases, brackets, valves, sluice gates, and ladders. The 30” DIP Storm Water Discharge tubes are installed. Storm water pumps are on site. Some Control Panels have been delivered. Construction of the generator pad has begun with concrete placement scheduled for 24 FEB 20. Walls for the pump enclosure and wing walls were placed on 17 FEB 20.
Pump Station #4: Concrete base slab complete, a section of the 72” RCP storm pipe has been set, and concrete placement for the first section of walls was completed on 7 JAN 20. The first concrete placement for the interior walls has been placed. Formwork and rebar placement for the discharge tube and water chamber continue. Concrete placement for this work is scheduled for the week of 24 FEB 20.
Control Structure #6 near PS #3: Concrete structure has been set and backfill is complete. Storm water piping is underway.
Control Structure #7 near PS#3: Concrete structure has been set. Sluice gate has been installed and backfill is complete. Awaiting sanitary piping installation.
Control Structure # at Railroad Street : Has been set and the 36” RCP Storm line has been installed and backfilled with flowable fill and 2RC. The sluice gate has been installed.
A set of test pits were excavated to establish the existence of ash on the section of levee east of Market Street. The test pits were located at 44+75 and ash was encountered.
The total extent of the ash is expected to be minimal but it needs to be investigated as the inspection trench work proceeds.
