DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
The Town of Bloomsburg has a full time salaried position available for a professional in our Finance Department. Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university. A master’s degree or designation as a Certified Public Finance Official from the GFOA is preferred. At least Five (5) years’ experience in accounting where a minimum of three of those years are in municipal accounting. Experience with Freedom System software and Paychex a plus. Must be effective and organized while handling and analyzing accounting records and supervising a clerk. DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
FULL TIME OPERATOR/LABORER
The Public Works Department of the Town of Bloomsburg has an opening for a full time Operator/Laborer. The position is within a union shop and covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The successful candidate will perform a variety of manual, semi-skilled and skilled labor including the operation of a backhoe, frontend loader, skid loader and dump trucks, along with duties related to construction and maintenance of Town roads and Town facilities. Applicants must have 2 years experience as a municipal public works employee or 4 years in construction as an equipment operator and Laborer. Applicants must possess a valid Class B Pennsylvania Commercial Drivers License. Experience with plumbing, electrical, and wood trades a plus. Applicants must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. This position requires bending, climbing, crouching and lifting on a daily basis. Applicants will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions, must be self-motivated and able to work effectively with little supervision. Starting pay is $18.94 per hour with a $1/hr increase after 6 month probationary period, plus a full benefits package including pension, sick and personal days.
