Recycling is mandatory for Town of Bloomsburg residents, businesses, schools, offices, multi-family housing units and organizers of special events.

Every household has access to twice a month curbside collection of steel cans, aluminum cans, clear, brown, and green glass bottles, newspaper and #1 and #2 plastic bottles.  The Town is divided into 5 collection areas.

The Town of Bloomsburg was the first community in Pennsylvania to provide curbside collection of recycling starting in August of 1977.
