POLICE CLERK-PART TIME 

The Bloomsburg Police Department has an opening for a part time Police Clerk.  Applicants must demonstrate competent written and oral communication skills, possess financial and business skills and have computer knowledge in MS Word and Excel.  The position is a uniformed civilian non-union position reporting to the Chief of Police.  The successful applicant will have direct contact with the public, receiving citizens complaints, inquiries, answering telephone, generating/filing a multitude of business, statistical and financial reports for police, insurance companies, the public, courts and the town council. A significant amount of time will be involved in receipt of parking tickets and the processing of parking tickets and delinquent notices.  This position requires a solid understanding of office support functions and will be accountable for multiple tasks.

Approximately 30 hours per week scheduled typically between 4:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. with flexibility necessary. Candidates will be subjected to a written and oral examination(s) and will serve a six month probation period in addition to undergoing an in-depth criminal history, personal, financial, driving and physical, including drug testing.

High School diploma or equivalent required.  A minimum of 1-3 years secretarial experience required.
